5 mistakes to avoid with social networks

To self-promotion

By doing that your self-promotion and bringing no added value, you are committing a big mistake. When you enter the world of social networking, you should keep in mind that this is to participate and enter into conversations and not to scare the public because of your marketing messages and incessant selling.


Social Media is conversational. This means that there are two or more people who listen and respond. If you do not focus on content delivery, then you're not committed to a social level. Building relationships requires listening to the views of others and to answer them.

Do not adopt a conversational style

Never try to force your point of view. Your goal is to listen, build trust and understand the perspective of another. Of course, you want to express your own point of view, but do not criticize and do not be insulting. Also avoid being too formal, too boring and plain. Interact and show your true personality.

Avoid scatter

If you try to participate in several social media at the same time, your participation is sporadic and inconsistent. Of course you can test different social networks, find places you like and where you excel. Settle into your favorite social network and focus you on it. You will take more pleasure and you will build better relationships.


The marketing of social networks is to create and maintain lasting relationships. It takes time and requires a lot of conversations. Social networks are not the quick fix that many people detect. Prepare yourself for a long breath!
